Day 1 - Visiting Dharamshala
This day marks the beginning of mesmerizing getaway to the land of dense forests and snow-laden peaks – Dharamshala. Dharamshala literally means ‘spiritual dwelling, ’ and the place lives up to it by being home to various monasteries and temples. Tibetan culture has its footing in the region, thus, offering visitors a great blend of the same with the Indian culture, and you will find this small town to be captivatingly attractive with its culture and calm.
Take a road trip from Pathankot to Dharamshala and upon your arrival check into your hotel, and you have the rest of the day at leisure. Indulge in street momos or enjoy the charming Tibetan cafes. Shop for Buddhist artifacts and practice yoga at one of the city’s many centers – your stay here will be nothing short of blissful.
The day ends with a delectable dinner before you head back to your hotel and spend the night in the comfort of your room in Dharamshala.
Day 2 - Dharamshala ?more than just a spiritual dwelling (Sightseeing in Dharamshala)
A nutritious breakfast is all you need to kick start the exciting day waiting ahead of you. Post breakfast, proceed for a sightseeing tour of Dharamshala that starts with a visit to the Dal Lake. Take a walk around this gorgeous water body surrounded by dense pine trees and find your mind at peace around such beauty.
Next head to the St. John’s Church is a great example of the neo-Gothic style of architecture and is also surrounded by deodar and pine trees, making its sight nothing short of stunning. Thereafter, head to the Kangra Museum followed by a visit to the Art Museum and be mesmerized by the miniature paintings and sculptures and artifacts from the 5th century.
Lastly stop by the Tibetan Medical Centre and get insight into the traditional production of medicinal pills. The place also practices ancient Tibetan systems of astrology and astronomy.
The evening is for leisure and the long and tiring day ends with a luscious dinner at a local restaurant. Overnight stay at Dharamshala.
Day 3 - : Home Bound (Drive from Dharamshala to Pathankot (88 km/approx. 3 hours)
On this day, you will conclude your memorable trip to the dreamy Dharamshala. Wake to a beautiful morning and indulge in a sumptuous breakfast and proceed for your road trip from Dharamshala to Pathankot.
