This Cancellation, Refund, and Amendment Policy governs all bookings made through Mashahur.com and shall be read in conjunction with the Master Terms & Conditions, and by confirming a booking, making any payment, or availing any service, the Guest expressly agrees to the terms set forth herein.
1. General Cancellation Principles
All travel bookings involve advance commitments with airlines, hotels, transport providers, destination management companies, and other third-party suppliers, and therefore any cancellation request shall be subject to the cancellation policies of the respective suppliers, and Mashahur.com acts only as a facilitator in communicating and implementing such policies in good faith.
2. Cancellation by the Guest
In the event that a Guest wishes to cancel a confirmed booking for any reason whatsoever, including but not limited to personal reasons, medical issues, change of plans, work commitments, visa delay or rejection, or any other voluntary reason, cancellation charges shall apply as per the applicable supplier policies and may range from partial charges to one hundred percent of the total booking value, depending on the proximity of the cancellation date to the travel date and the nature of the services booked.
3. Indicative Cancellation Slabs (Subject to Supplier Policy)
Unless otherwise specifically mentioned in writing, the following indicative cancellation structure may apply, subject always to airline, hotel, and supplier rules:
- Cancellations made more than 30 days prior to departure may attract minimal cancellation charges, primarily toward non-refundable supplier deposits and Mashahur.com service fees.
- Cancellations made between 15 to 30 days prior to departure may attract cancellation charges ranging from 25% to 50% of the total booking value.
- Cancellations made between 7 to 14 days prior to departure may attract cancellation charges ranging from 50% to 75% of the total booking value.
- Cancellations made within 7 days of departure, or failure to report for travel, may attract 100% cancellation charges.
These slabs are indicative only and actual charges shall be governed strictly by supplier policies.
4. Non-Refundable Components
Certain components of a travel package are strictly non-refundable, including but not limited to:
- Airline tickets marked as non-refundable
- Promotional or special-rate hotel bookings
- Visa fees, service charges, and courier fees
- Peak season or festival period bookings
- Advance deposits paid to suppliers
Such components shall remain non-refundable irrespective of the cancellation reason.
5. No-Show, Early Checkout & Unused Services
No refund shall be provided in the event of:
- No-show at airport, hotel, or pickup point
- Early check-out or voluntary shortening of the trip
- Missed sightseeing, transfers, meals, or activities
- Partial utilization of the booked services
Once a service has commenced or been made available, it shall be deemed utilized.
6. Cancellation Due to Visa Rejection
In cases where a booking is cancelled due to visa rejection:
- Visa fees and service charges shall remain strictly non-refundable
- Other components shall be refunded only if the supplier permits cancellation with refund
- Proof of official visa rejection must be submitted in writing
Mashahur.com shall not be responsible for visa outcomes or related losses.
7. Cancellation Due to Medical Reasons
Cancellations due to medical emergencies or health issues shall be considered only upon submission of valid medical documentation; however, acceptance of such cancellation for refund purposes shall remain subject to supplier policies, and Mashahur.com does not guarantee refunds on medical grounds.
8. Cancellation Due to Force Majeure
In the event of cancellation arising due to force majeure events such as natural calamities, pandemics, strikes, political unrest, government restrictions, or adverse weather conditions:
- Mashahur.com shall make reasonable efforts to obtain refunds or credits from suppliers
- Refunds, if any, shall be processed strictly as per supplier policies
- In certain cases, suppliers may offer rescheduling or credit notes instead of refunds
Mashahur.com shall not be liable for losses arising from force majeure circumstances.
9. Cancellation by Mashahur.com
Mashahur.com reserves the right to cancel a booking in rare circumstances such as:
- Non-payment or delayed payment by the Guest
- Incomplete or invalid travel documentation
- Supplier cancellation or operational infeasibility
- Safety, security, or legal concerns
In such cases, Mashahur.com shall process refunds, if applicable, after deducting non-recoverable supplier costs.
10. Refund Processing Timelines
Approved refunds shall be processed only after the same are received from suppliers, and refund timelines may vary depending on airline, hotel, and banking processes, and Mashahur.com shall not be held responsible for delays caused by suppliers or payment gateways.
11. Mode of Refund
All refunds shall be processed through the original mode of payment or via bank transfer to the account provided by the Guest, and cash refunds shall not be permitted under any circumstances.
12. Amendment & Rescheduling Policy
Requests for amendments or rescheduling shall be treated as cancellation followed by a new booking, unless otherwise permitted by suppliers, and any fare difference, rescheduling fee, or supplier penalty shall be borne entirely by the Guest.
13. Refund Deductions
Refunds, where applicable, shall be subject to deduction of:
- Supplier cancellation charges
- Mashahur.com service fees
- Payment gateway or banking charges
- Applicable taxes or administrative fees
14. Refund Disputes & Complaints
Any dispute regarding refunds must be communicated in writing within 48 hours of refund receipt, failing which the refund shall be deemed accepted by the Guest, without prejudice to statutory rights under applicable law.
15. Finality of Decision
The decision of Mashahur.com regarding cancellation charges and refund eligibility, based on supplier policies and applicable law, shall be final and binding, subject to statutory consumer remedies.
