The Pearl City and the City of Nizams


Hyderabad, also known as the Pearl City and the City of Nizams, is the capital of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, and one of the fastest growing metropolis cities of India. The city has abundance of tourist destinations with wonderful historical monuments, heritage sites, museums, lakes, forts, gardens, mosques and temples that attract millions of tourists every year. Golconda Fort: This famous fort is an archeological treasure as listed by The Archeological Survey of India on their ‘List of Monuments”. It is famous for its magical acoustic system, wonderful palaces, and the renowned Fateh Rahban cannon.


Ramoji Film City: Built by the Ramoji Group in 1996 and spread across an area of 2000 acres, Ramoji Film city is recognized as the largest studio complex in the world. This wonderful place with amazing attractions, both natural and artificial, is visited by more than 1.5 million people every year.


Nehru Zoological Park: Spread across 300 acres, this zoological park is an abode of more than 250 species of animals and birds and is a must visit location for nature lovers.


Nizam Museum: Originally a palace of the Nizams, it now functions as a museum that exhibits the gifts as well as mementos presented to the last Nizam during the Silver Jubilee Celebration in 1936.


Chow Mohalla Palace: This famous palace complex comprising four palaces is located in the old city near Charminar, and was the official residence of the Nizams of Hyderabad.


Hussain Sagar Lake: It is one of the largest artificial lakes in Hyderabad, famous for a monolithic statue of Lord Buddha installed at the centre of the Lake. Tourists can enjoy water sports and the Light & Sound show.

There are several shops that offer jewelry, books, handicrafts, clothes and something for everyone, at affordable prices. Most of the famous markets are spread around the Charminar.

Govind Dosa, Chutneys, Dakshina Mantapa, Kamath Hotel, Utupura, etc., are good for South Indian dishes.
